I recently read a great quote......

“To improve is to change.  To be perfect is to change often.”– Winston Churchill

Life is constantly changing. Think of how much has changed in your life in the last 5 years, 10 years, 15 years!  I have been a student, librarian, paralegal, office manager, photographer, single, married, divorced, mother, in-shape, out-of-shape, healthy, injured…the list goes on and yours might be longer!  Additionally, external changes sometimes bring with them a realization that internal changes are also desired.  We might want to feel happier, more satisfied, peaceful and valued.

Even when we stay in the same place the world around us is constantly changing.  We spend most of our lives trying to adapt, improve, change and be perfect (at least by some definition).  Depending on your world-view, perfection can be elusive or instantaneous.  If Churchill was correct, all we need to do is change often in our journey of continuous improvement.  Regardless of your view of perfection, the tools to change are invaluable.

I have learned from starting a small photography business that the only real constant in business is that there is no constant; you must count on change being a continuous state of being.  I must say all the change I have undergone in this past year has brought to me one of the happiest times of my life.  As I approach my birthday, I would like to forget the number (haha) but my personal life is at its best, each and every day my children will either do or say something to make me proud and my professional life is continuing to advance.

As the season begins to change, all of you that are thinking of Christmas cards, photos as gifts, go ahead and send me an email. I am already scheduling into November and I want to be sure I can get you in my book.

I met the Pocker Family at the Farnsley Mooreman House, although it was a hot morning, we braved the heat for a great session:)
