Photographing Shelby.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Awww, Shelby.  This senior pulled at my heart strings, she is the niece of my childhood best friend, Erin.  I was friends with Erin when Shelby's mother had just graduated from high school.  I held Shelby as a baby and she was just a toddler when Erin and I were moving into our college dorm.....just makes me realize how fast life is really going.  You always hear, the cliché "time flies" but when you’re in the moment of trying to graduate from high school, trying to get in and then out of college, then waiting and wishing for the next thing, you forget.  It took just a moment of photographing Shelby to realize how much in life I have already accomplished and to pause and embrace the moment!

As we cruised through St. James and Central Park snapping pictures, I'm sure people thought she was a rock star. Shelby has a wonderful family, mom, dad and boyfriend all helped make Shelby's day (and mine) alot easier.  Shelby's entourage helped with hair, makeup, jewelry, clothing changes and also retrieving her from the roof of an amphitheater, ha-ha, you'll have to ask her about that one.  Don't let this limited selection of pictures be deceiving, the full set of proofs includes at least 25 different outfits. I think one of the best things about this photo shoot was that Shelby and her mom are extremely creative and had in mind the photographs they wanted

Here are a few of many great photos from the day.
