This past weekend I photographed my childhood best friend, Erin and her husband Todd who are expecting their first child in June. What a beautiful couple. Not to metion two of the cutest dogs, Tuffy and Zsa-Zsa. Erin is a phenomenal hair dresser at Blades. If you want a great color and cut you must get on her book. Erin doesn’t like to sing her own praises, so I’ll do it for her; she recently traveled to New York to style hair for runway models at Fashion Week. Not to mention to Madrid, Spain and Anchorage, Alaska for hair shows. Needless to say, she’s great!

On a sadder note, this week she lost her father due to a massive heart attack. I have a lot of fond memories of Lou, and I never truly expressed to him my appreciation for his guidance throughout my adolescent years. He helped me complete my college admission forms when I had no where to turn, he also was a strong encourager for me to apply for scholarships. I am not quite sure what I would have done without his help and his daily inquiry of “are you okay?” As teenagers, Erin and I had many laughs at her father’s expense, he was quirky but a wonderful man. You see, Lou liked to exercise in his “tightie whities,” can you imagine two 13 year old girls seeing a grown man doing “helicopter exercises” in his under garments? Just thinking about makes me get the school girl giggles. (a helicopter exerice is really a torso twist) but Erin and I always called them helicopter exercises.

Lou, rest in peace. The family is in my prayers.
